Bracket Game 2026 ("the App") is a prediction game for the 2026 international football tournament. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Display Name: The name you choose when creating your profile. This is visible to other users on the leaderboard and in friend groups.
Bracket Predictions: Your match score predictions, stored locally on your device and optionally synced to Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) when you submit your bracket.
Profile Photo: An optional photo you select from your device, stored locally on your device and uploaded as a small thumbnail to iCloud when you sync your bracket.
iCloud Account Identifier: Used by Apple's CloudKit to associate your records. We do not have access to your Apple ID, email, or personal iCloud data.
- To save your predictions locally on your device
- To display your bracket and score on the global leaderboard (only after you submit)
- To enable friend groups so you can compare predictions with friends
- To fetch live match results from football-data.org to calculate scores
Local Data: Your profile, predictions, and photos are stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data stays on your device unless you choose to submit your bracket.
Cloud Data: When you submit your bracket, your display name, predicted champion, score, prediction data, and profile photo thumbnail are uploaded to Apple's CloudKit public database. Friend group names, members, and invite codes are also stored in CloudKit.
We do not operate our own servers. All cloud data is stored in Apple's iCloud infrastructure, governed by Apple's privacy policies.
football-data.org: We use this service to fetch live match results. No personal data is sent to this service — only API requests for match scores.
Apple CloudKit: Used for the global leaderboard and friend groups. Governed by Apple's iCloud Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Your display name and bracket predictions are visible to other App users only through the leaderboard and friend groups you join.
Local data can be deleted at any time by deleting the App from your device.
Cloud data (leaderboard entries, friend groups) is stored in CloudKit. To request deletion of your cloud data, contact us at the email below. CloudKit records associated with your iCloud account will be removed.
The App does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The App does not require any personal information beyond a display name of your choosing.
You have the right to:
- Access your data (visible in the App at all times)
- Delete your local data (by deleting the App)
- Request deletion of your cloud data
- Choose not to submit your bracket to the cloud (use the App in local-only mode)
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the App with an updated date.
